PTC Systems has been awarded a new 12 floor scheme for a prestigious Hotel in Marble Arch due to commence on site imminently.
The installation will consist of new HellermannTyton Cat 6A U/FTP Cca grade structured cabling throughout the shell, core areas including all guest rooms and suites.
The complete installation consists of 47U server cabinets within the Main Equipment Room (MER) and Satellite Equipment Room, or SER along with an array of TE connectivity cabinets throughout the building, with 24 core OM4 multimode Cca grade fibre backbone links, Cat 6A U/FTP Cca grade panel to panel copper backbone links and CW1600 B2ca grade voice link cabling.
Main Equipment Room (MER) acts as the main IT location for a building. The MER is the key transition point of the data and telecom cabling and that enters the building and connects in turn to other Satellite equipment rooms.
The Satellite Equipment Room has a similar function to the MER. The difference, however, is that it has a satellite function compared to the Main room. The SER is often close to a department or area that uses the equipment in this space. There can be several Satellite Equipment Rooms in one building. These are all connected to the Main Equipment Room.
