Infrastruture-audits-aPTC Systems offers an infrastructure audit, to help ensure you have the most cost-effective network for your needs. Using PTC Systems’ own auditing model, and costing a fraction of the cost of a network upgrade, an audit will pinpoint where expenditure can be most effectively allocated when upgrading networks and associated physical infrastructure.

PTC Systems offers three types of audit:

The Level 1 audit includes:

  • A complete structured cabling and network infrastructure check starting at the physical layer of the OSI model.
  • Identification of cabling system manufacturer, type and specification.
  • Detailing of location of communication cabinets, patch panels and back bone link cabling.
  • Testing of spare capacity within the structured cabling system to determine current status and provision of diagrams showing network schematic and cabinet layouts.
  • A full report and test results on the findings with recommendations.
  • Use of a network analyzer to identify any issues on the network.
  • Checking and reporting of data throughput speeds on active switches.

The level 2 audit provides:

  • A high end virtualisation of server infrastructure performance enabling unprecedented levels of workload isolation and granular resource control for all system computing resources.
  • 30 day running of a software tool on the network, to monitor and report server performances.
  • A full report detailing and listing the consolidation of idle system resources, increased operational efficiency, proposed improvements in server management and reductions in physical space, cooling and power requirements.

The Level 3 audit is a fully comprehensive network and infrastructure audit encompassing all elements of level 1 and level 2.
